Only God Grants Us Victory

“I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. Selah.”(Psalm 44:6–8, NIV)

We may be strong and persistent, but only God can give us victory. When the psalmist wrote these words, he knew exactly what he was talking about. Without God, neither our strength nor our willpower is enough to bring us success.

Still, we must continue to praise God even in the worst of times, because only He can turn a difficult season around. God is the one who determines all things, and it is through Him that we gain the victory. Strive to grow, be strengthened, but above all, trust in God.

When we invest our efforts in seeking God, we focus on what truly matters. In doing so, we grow in grace, from faith to faith, and from glory to glory.

Trusting in God

We grow in our trust in God as we learn more about His works. Read the Bible regularly. Life is an exercise of faith. Exercising faith is an act of trusting God. As we seek God, we become aware of our limitations. That’s how we learn to rely on Him more than on our own abilities.

A Prayer

God, all ability comes from You. Even in the hardest moments, only You can grant victory.Guard my life and empower me according to Your Word. In Jesus' name, amen.
